The Daria Bambalina Edit: On Bringing Unique Accents into your Space, Wardrobe Essentials & Uncommon Finds

FEATURED CURATOR

Meet The Curator

Daria Bambalina, Founder of Taith Candles | Uncommon and Curated

Meet Daria, an artist and entrepreneur who crafts sculptural candles.

DARIA BAMBALINA

FOUNDER, TAITH CANDLES

Founded in 2023 by Daria Bambalina, TAITH Candles takes its name from the Welsh word taith, meaning “journey.” Blending sculptural design with craftsmanship, Bambalina designs each candle using 3D printing technology before handcrafting them in small batches with sustainable soy wax, creating objects that bring form, texture, and intention into everyday spaces.

Here, the Warsaw native shares her recommended home accessories, wardrobe essentials, emerging designers to have on your radar, and a few of her favorite things, from a sculptural incense holder to a faux fur coat she’s currently loving.

Curated Collection: Unique Home Accents

When Daria Bambalina isn’t crafting sculptural candles or searching for her next vintage find, she’s thinking about the small details that give a space its sense of character. Speaking with Bambalina about bringing unique accent pieces into the home, she shared that a beautifully styled coffee table or shelf should feel collected over time, with each object adding meaning and intention. She creates depth through layering, mixing textures, finishes, and forms while paying close attention to height and negative space so the arrangement feels balanced rather than crowded. Below, she shares some of her favorite design studios and objects that bring dimension to a space.

Style Profile

Bambalina describes her personal style as a balance of softness and strength, living somewhere between classic restraint and subtle rebellion. She’s drawn to timeless silhouettes like silk slip dresses, tailored trousers, and structured blazers, but styled in a way that’s slightly unpolished to add tension. She gravitates towards outfits like a silk dress paired with a leather jacket or a sharply tailored blazer styled slightly undone, paired with boots with a masculine edge.

Most Worn Brands

The brands that helped build the foundation of her wardrobe.

“I’m drawn to the architectural silhouettes and the tension between precision and disruption. Even a simple coat or jacket from this brand carries a strong point of view. There’s a certain intellectual edge that I love.”

“This knitwear brand, created by my friend, features pieces that are tactile, intimate, and beautifully constructed. I love supporting independent design, especially when there is real care in the material and fit.”

“I love shopping vintage and always look for Celine pieces from the 1990s and early 2000s (pre-Phoebe Philo era). I’m drawn to the clean lines, quiet minimalism, and beautifully structured knitwear and tailored trousers from that period.”

Uncommon Gems

Under-The-Radar Labels

The “if you know, you know” brands.

“I love this brand  for its contemporary, architectural silhouettes with strong tailoring at an affordable price point.”

“I love this designer for its elevated minimalism with a poetic softness, especially in natural fabrics.”

Uncommon Maker

One creative whose work I deeply admire is my brother, Ivan Bambalin — an artist and director whose vision feels both cinematic and deeply human. His drawings have a quiet intensity with compositions that feel like visual poetry. As a director, he brings the same sensitivity to narrative and atmosphere to every frame he creates, which feels intentional, thoughtful, and layered. He’s directed features for Vogue Polska, Rat & Boa, as well as Piaget, Dior, and Chaumet in partnership with Mixte Magazine.

Chic & Unique

Gianni Versace 1997 Sandals

Gianni Versace

1997 Sandals

“These vintage Gianni Versace sandals from 1997 that I inherited from my mother are unapologetically bold, sculptural, and iconic of their era. They carry that unmistakable late-90s glamour: strong lines, sensuality, and confidence. Wearing them feels like stepping into a moment of fashion history.”

Uncommon Destination

A unique travel destination she finds inspiring.

Cappadocia Turkey

“What struck me most about Cappadocia wasn’t the balloons; it was the landscape itself. The terrain feels almost sculpted by hand with volcanic stone shaped by time into architectural formations. The landscape is a palette of sand, clay, and warm neutrals, yet the forms are dramatic and otherworldly. I found that walking through the valleys felt almost meditative: immersive and grounding at the same time. The way light moves across the surface at sunset is incredibly inspiring.”
